District-Wide PAC Meeting 6:30 pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2019

Dinner and networking beginning at 6:00 pm At the Martin Center, 2400 Fairfax Ave

Please wear a shirt representing your school. What is the PAC?

The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is relaunching across the district with a clearer purpose and positioning within the district: • Providing opportunities for effective involvement of MNPS parents and families • Promoting healthy communication and avenues for feedback • Supporting partnerships with and among school stakeholders.

How should principals select the two parents? We recommend these parameters for selection: • All MNPS parents and guardians of students in your school are eligible to be a school representative • Parents engaged in your School Improvement Plan (SIP) or School Support Organization (SSO) could be great candidates for PAC service • We anticipate that PAC service will require a time commitment of 3-4 hours per month

The PAC will be parent-run with support as needed from the district. www.mnpspac.weebly.com

We are seeking your participation in a round table to discuss the future of visual and performing arts programs in Metro Nashville Public Schools. The round table will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday, November 19 at the Martin Center.

The visual and performing arts department has contracted with Spark Impact through the support of Music Makes Us to engage a diverse group of stakeholders in discussions that will help inform a multi-year strategic plan for visual and performing arts education in MNPS. This strategic action plan is scheduled to be released in March 2020 with the goal of increasing access to, participation in, and the quality of visual and performing arts education for all MNPS students.
