Interested in Crocheting for a Good Cause?

JTM parent and employee, Michelle Stapleton, crochets large sleeping mats from plastic grocery bags.  The mats are given to individuals who are homeless.  The finished product is very warm, soft, thick and easy to roll.  In addition to helping someone stay warm and more comfortable, the mats are a great way to recycle plastic grocery bags.

Michelle is hosting an informational meeting on Thursday, February 8 at 4:15 in the JTM Library.

Any adult and/or student is welcome to attend!  Please come if you are interested in making the mats on your own or in a group OR not interested in crocheting but want to learn other ways you can support this project.

The meeting will discuss how the mats are made, brainstorm putting together a group of adults/students to make/support this thoughtful project, and other uses for the mats/bags, etc.

This is a great way for students to earn IB hours.

Please email Michelle at michelle.stapleton@mnps.org to let her know if you can attend the meeting or if you have any questions. Thank you!
