Summer Reading Blastoff! May 16th 5-7pm

 In Current Events

We are almost to the end of the school year and there is so much to celebrate!

  • JT Moore students and staff recorded reading 138,800 minutes for our April #ReadMoore Challenge! Amazing- and we still have a few days left!
  • MNPS & the Nashville Public Library are partnering again this year for our summer reading program. This year’s theme, “A Universe of Stories” celebrates all kinds of feats of attentiveness, including the amazing 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing & our city-wide read of Margot Lee Shetterly’s Hidden Figures. Reading, quite literally, takes us out of this world!
  • Join JT Moore teachers, myself, and our Edgehill & Green Hills librarians for the Summer Reading Blastoff party at the Edgehill Community Memorial Garden Park (behind the Edgehill Library) on Thursday, May 16th from 5pm-7pm. Whole families can sign up for the summer reading program. Grab a hot dog, play some basketball with our teachers, hula hoop, blow some bubbles, get some great literacy tips for the summer, purchase a book from the Parnassus Bookmobile (10% goes to the library!), take a free book from our book swap table! Lots of fun is planned for the evening! We would love for our feeder school communities to come be a part! Glendale, Percy Priest, Julia Green, & Waverly Belmont – We are family!

What a lovely, thoughtful, book-filled year for JT Moore. Thank you for encouraging your students, families, and friends to read. Enjoy this beautiful weather and bring a book outside with you!

Broken record of #ReadMoore love,

Ms. Dark
