Matador soccer rolls onward…

JT Moore faced a little more pressure Tuesday afternoon from a game Bellevue squad, but easily triumphed 5-0 on a hot afternoon.

The defense played a superior match and shut down any real threats from the Bellevue team.  Jenny Lott was super solid in goal and Emma Russell, Emery Lewis, Rebecca Sanchez, and Maddie Vaughn did a great job on the backline.  The mid-field of Gigi Bowman, Simone Longenecker, and Emerson Knoll played a great game this afternoon controlling the mid-field.  The Matadors had their best passing game of the season this afternoon.  The forwards pressed the attack all afternoon, great job to Maguire Maestas, Sophie Stein, Ellis McDermott, and Caroline Kirkby.

Ellis McDermott was on fire this afternoon, serving up the best crosses that any Moore squad has seen in a long time!  Sophie Stein scored the hat trick this afternoon, scoring 2 critical goals in the 1st half to put Moore up 2-0 after Moore left at least 3 easy goals on the field as we failed to make the runs on goal.  Maguire Maestas and Caroline Kirkby each added one goal in the 2nd half.  Ellis McDermott had a phenomenal free kick that was ruled no goal, best shot on goal of the match!

Please come and see the Lady Matadors take on Cameron, Wednesday 5:30pm at Cameron, in their last regular season match.  The Lady Matadors are looking to finish out an undefeated 8-0 regular season!
