Alex Lute, 6th grade science

My name is Alex Lute and I grew up in Lansing, IL – a suburb of Chicago (Go Cubs!). I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Huntington University in 2011 (Huntington, In.)

I moved to Nashville in 2011, mainly to get away from the cold winters up north! I taught special education in an elementary school in Sumner County for 4 years; teaching both resource students and gifted and talented students. While in MNPS I’ve worked as a middle school special education teacher at Neely’s Bend Middle Prep before coming to JT Moore. I am thankful to have the opportunity to work with such a diverse group of students as a general education science teacher. This will be my 4th year at JTM.

Being an Eagle Scout myself, I spend some of my free time volunteering with Boy Scout Troop 217 (along with Mr. Henry the JTM strings teacher). I also run my own business flipping homes in the Nashville area. My girlfriend and I love going out to eat and trying new restaurants. But my most favorite free time activity is supporting my students in their extracurricular activities. A Saturday spent at the ball field cheering on my students is a day well spent in my books!
