Hello Matadors!

I hope that your summer has been wonderful so far and that each student has been reading at least 30 minutes per day and been keeping your reading log/entering your reading log into the Nashville Public Library system.  I really would like to see us be the top reading school in Nashville!  Plus, you can win great prizes!  It is critical that each child #ReadMOORE!   http://npl.readsquared.com/

As you all are aware, budgets are tight.  This includes our cleaning budgets.  Ms. Ramona and Mr. Primm have been working diligently getting classroom floors waxed and rooms cleaned.  However, I really could use your help.  Saturday, July 28th, from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., we are having our campus clean up morning.  We need your help to wipe down walls in the hallways, clean windows, dust the tops of lockers, touch up paint in the hallways and office, cleaning up around the outside of the school, etc., as we prepare for our incoming 5th grade Matador Transitions on Monday the 30th and for the first day of school on Tuesday, August 7th. Students can earn 1.5 hours toward their required minimum 10 hours of IB community service on that morning by showing up, working hard, and filling out an IB service hour form for me to sign.
(The form is available HERE.) Parents, we need your help desperately too!  If you can come, bring some paper towels, cleaning cloths, Windex, Pledge, or something that can help clean walls and windows, we need you. I need you.

Please email me (gary.hughes@mnps.org) if you are able to join me a week from Saturday at 8 a.m. at JT Moore for 1.5 hours at the most!  I hope you can.
