This fundraiser involves asking real estate professionals to contribute a small portion of their commissions or fees, at closing, to the school or schools of your choice.  Not just real estate agents, but mortgage lenders and loan officers, closing attorneys, title companies, appraisers, etc.

When you are deciding which realtor to choose to list or help you find a home, or which loan officer to help you obtain your mortgage, or which title company you’d like to close with, you should ask them if they would be willing to make a contribution, in your name, at your closing, to the school or schools of your choice.

You can visit:  http://www.sosnashville.net for a list of the real estate professionals currently participating in this fundraiser.  Most participants are parents with children in our Metro schools, so they appreciate your decision to work with them in order to give back to a Metro school.  And more than likely, you already know these folks!

If you know a real estate professional not on the list, please contact them to see if they would like to participate today!  Just ask your real estate agent or loan officer or other real estate professional to send an email to the website’s administrator, Rob Blackford so they can be included in our online database of SOS participants.

Please note, that, the contribution you receive from any and all real estate professionals you work with will be made to the school or schools of your choice, in your name, and may be distributed to any program or programs or departments within the school that YOU choose.  You, then, will receive the donation receipt for your records.  Please, however, consult a tax professional in regards to any credit you might receive for a charitable contribution.
