International Walk-to-School day is Wednesday, October 6th. It’s simple: “Just do it!” The A.M. weather forecast is spectacular: Clear skies with a crisp Fall chill.  Click here to download MNPS’s “Walk-ability Survey”. Please complete the survey and deliver it to the school office. To enjoy a mile-long group-trek on sidewalk, meet at Chris and Valerie Moth’s home 2020 Overhill Dr, 37215. We’ll set out promptly at 8:25AM.

Thanks to parent and staff shared concern for student health, PTO funding will be used to install a high quality water filter and cup dispenser in the cafeteria so students can have healthy H2O at meal times! The station can also be used to refill water bottles during the day. Click here for a link to a news story along those lines. Look for more news to come on Moore’s work to makes kids aware of good food choices.

Have you seen the totally awesome Live Moore t-shirts? Wish you had one? You can still get one at Moore Wear on Wednesday morning from 8:40 to 9:00 am. Or you can fill out the order form, include a check and send it in to the office. Sizes and quantity are limited.

Invest highlights:

• We have less than $10,000 to reach our goal of $60,000!
• Last few days to get your pledge cards in!  Monday Sept 20 is our last official day.
• Participation is at 40% school wide. Even if you can only give $5, we would love to include your donation.
• The GOLD house is leading the RED house by 1% to get an out of SSA day for participation.
• Thank you to our Platinum, Gold and Silver donors!
• “Change For Change” is going strong.  The #1 use for these funds is to re-calibrate the lockers to make them easier to use.

Wow! Our Matadors must really love ICEEs! We kicked off our first two official days of Invest Moore with giving out over 200 Free ICEE coupons and collecting pledges over $40,000!! That amounts to 2/3 of our goal! We received pledges ranging from $5 to $2,500 so every dollar counts toward reaching our goal to support vital programs at JTM. If you were unable to send in your pledge card, the campaign continues through next Fri 9/17 so please be sure to send in your contribution. If you need another brochure, you may click here or email Carey at buckeyebear@me.com to have another sent home. Let’s reach that goal and celebrate with an ice cream treat for every student at lunch!

Bring your family and friends to to the J.T. Moore Auditorium Monday, December 7th at 6:30pm for a fun filled night starring the JTM Rock Band, JTM Singers, and short films from the JTM Film Club.  Mr. McGuire, Ms. Calderon and the JTM kids have been working hard on this show all semester and need your support! This is Moore from Music Row’s only fundraiser this semester and we’re asking for donations of any kind at the door.

Your Matador should receive an order form from his/her homeroom teacher.  However, you don’t need an order form to order on-line.  Please try to order on-line, if possible.  The price is the same as last year…$28.00. Click here to order!
