Weekly Flu Bulletin from Nashville’s Director of Health

Seasonal flu shots are being offered now in Nashville at doctor’s offices, walk-in clinics, pharmacies, groceries, among other locations.  There is no shortage or delay in receiving this year’s seasonal flu vaccine. (more…)

Intramurals start Friday, September 11th!

For any student who has less than 10 demerits, fun is in store during their related arts period.  This Friday’s Intramural theme is a Volleyball Tournament. Please remind your student to bring money for the concession stand.  We’ll have soda, chips, popcorn and candy for sale.  Everything is $1 or 50 cents. (more…)

Invest Update – September 9th

Great News – We have almost reached our goal of $35,000, and we are now trying to go $5000 OVER our goal so that we can serve ice cream sundaes at lunch and have one student slime Ms. Pittman with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. Let’s all turn in our pledge cards by MONDAY and raise money for JT MOORE – money that is used for library books, art and music supplies, teacher supplies, scholarships for field trips, athletic expenses, IB materials, and after school clubs. Band and Strings support meeting

J.T. Moore music boosters are meeting on Sept. 15, 6:30 to 8:00 in the JTM Library for all persons interested in supporting the band and strings program. The purpose of the meeting is to develop a plan to better support band and strings at JTM.

J.T. Moore PBS Store Volunteers Needed

As many of you are aware, President Barack Obama plans to deliver an address to students across the country Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. Central Time. The broadcast will be live on the White House web site www.whitehouse.gov and will be available for download on that site later in the day Tuesday. The speech can also be viewed live on C-Span. The Invest in J.T. Moore Campaign has now received pledges totaling $31,200! Wow, we have done a great job – but we still need more pledges to reach our goal of $35,000 by September 15. Please remember to turn your pledge card in to your classroom as soon as possible so that we can reach our goal. (more…)

Open House Thursday, September 10th

Please join Mrs. Pittman, Dr. Hughes and staff in the auditorium at 6pm on Thursday, September 10th for our JTM Open House.  This is a wonderful opportunity to get some more detailed information about the beginning of school and have a chance to visit your student’s classrooms, including related arts.  We will offer some brief PTO news as well!  After visiting the classrooms, we encourage everyone to visit the library for light refreshments and another chance to shop the Book Fair.  Look forward to seeing you there!

Book Fair begins Tuesday, September 8th

Bring your Matador in for our annual Scholastic Book Fair next week.  Its a great way to get a head start on holiday shopping. The Book Fair will be open 8:40am to 4:30pm Tuesday. September 8th through Friday, September 11th and have extended hours Thursday evening, September 10th, during Open House from 5:30 to 8pm.

New Intramural Program for JTM Students

As a way to reward good behavior, Friday, September 11th marks our first day of intramurals.  Students who receive 10 or fewer demerits will participate in intramurals during their related arts period.  Furthermore, participating students will be allowed to buy snacks and food from the concession stand during their intramural period.
